In Polynesian culture the flower is used to indicate a women’s relationship status. A married woman will wear the flower over her left ear. Over her right when she is free to be asked for courtship.

Ylang Ylang originally came from Indonesia where it means flower of flowers. Ylang Ylang is a highly sensual and very sweet scent often used in massage oils. An aphrodisiac as well as a stimulant, interestingly the flower was burnt in ancient Muslim palaces in areas reserved for women only.
